Dead By Daylight Moonlight Burrow Lunar Event Guide

The Year of the Rabbit is here and Behaviour Interactive has brought the festivities to your favourite asymmetric horror game, Dead By Daylight. Playing as either Survivor or Killer, the player can enjoy the festive atmosphere during each game with red lanterns, fireworks, and more decorating the hooks, generators, exit gates, and buildings.

Exclusive Lunar Cosmetic Collection outfits are available in the Dead By Daylight store, with amazing skins for Dredge, Feng Min, and Vittorio Toscano. Free cosmetic items and charms can be unlocked by spending Bloodpoints in the Bloodweb and collecting Red Envelopes offerings. Spend these offerings when loading up into each game to be in with a chance of unlocking one random piece from the items available.

Once you are in game, your Red Envelope can be found somewhere on the map and you will see the aura of the envelope at the start of the match. Another player must claim your envelope for you to unlock one of the cosmetic items, if you claim your own envelope all you will get are Bloodpoints. You will know when your Red Envelope is successfully claimed as your character will gain golden sparkles around them during the match.

When you return to the lobby after the game ends you will see you have randomly unlocked one of the following pieces:

Strongest and Weakest Killers in Dead By Daylight

The Dead By Daylight developers at Behaviour release stats pretty regularly to show the pick rates and kill rates of the Killers available in-game. Some Killers are certainly picked more often than others, with numbers increasing around the time when they are released, while others are pretty consistently classic choices.

In October 2022, BHVR released some interesting stats about which Killer players were choosing and using to sacrifice Survivors to the Entity. Franchise Killers Pinhead, Onryo, and The Mastermind from popular horror movies Hellraiser, Ring, and Resident Evil were very popular, and had the highest kill rates. Freddy Kreuger (Nightmare on Elm Street) came in second place, followed closely by Pig (Saw movie), Plague and The Dredge (both original Killers).

Kill rates are an interesting stat as they are really affected by how easy the Killer is to play, what perks are being used, and the skill level of the players involved. Our tier list below takes into account how difficult it is to master the Killer, their kill rate, and how popular they seem to be judging from the most recent pick rate across all MMRs. Most of all, the tier list is based on what it is like to play that particular Killer at a high MMR.

Before we explain the tiers, it must be known that these are still opinion based in experience and stats. In no way is this definitive, and things can also change when and if Behaviour buff or nerf the characters’ perks and powers. The tier list may show how powerful the Killer is but just because the Killer is at B or C tier does not mean it is not fun to play. Many Pig and Clown players stick with their favorite Killer because of how enjoyable it is to use them, especially once they are highly skilled at that particular Killer.

S Tier Killers are harder to master but so satisfying to play once you do. When you first start playing as these Killers you should be ready to get your butt handed to you by the 4-person team of Survivors, but do not let that put you off. A Tier Killers are popular but take a bit less skill than S Tier, and can be great fun to play as or against. These Killers have good mobility and map pressure. B Tier Killers are average in skill level and usually need good perks to really make an impact, and they don’t have much map pressure. Lastly, C Tier Killers can be tough to play and not particularly great at map pressure or catching a looping Survivor.

The developers have also introduced a ton of events as well as new killers and survivors from Attack on Titan and borrowed some of Resident Evil’s villains like Albert Wesker. Despite its many features and captivating gameplay, is Dead by Daylight cross-progression? We’ll be answering this in this article.

Is Dead By Daylight Cross-Play? – Answered

First off, due to the nature of the game and the difficulty of the gameplay that requires players to survive through the night, one would simply assume that Dead by Daylight has cross-progression and allow players to bring their game saves anywhere and play anytime.

However, Dead by Daylight does not really have cross-progression on standard consoles and PC. The game only supports cross-progression between Google’s Stadia (which is now a discontinued service) and Steam.

The developers have been pretty discreet in releasing information regarding the implementation of cross-progression in Dead by Daylight for the console and PC. And although they did assure players that a cross-progression feature is being worked on, there’s not been any official release date from them ever since.

And since the Stadia is no longer an active platform, it’s safe to say that Valve’s Steam is the only platform that allows players to transfer their Dead by Daylight data to another yet-to-be-known platform using their Behaviour account which will transfer all levels, unlockables, perks and even DLC purchases to the new account/platform.

Players expect that Behaviour Interactive will bring a cross-progression feature to Dead by Daylight on various platforms including the Nintendo Switch version of the game. We continue to await the developers’ official word on the implementation of cross-progression for Dead by Daylight.

Snowmen in Dead By Daylight Bone Chill 2022

Snowmen have returned with the Bone Chill Event in 2022 but this year things are slightly different. In previous years only Surivors could use the Snowmen to hide in and protect themselves from a hit from the Killer. This year both sides of the game — Survivors and Killers — can jump inside and sneak about. The Snowmen also provide no protection from damage!

Survivor

As a Survivor, the Snowmen can be used by approaching one and getting inside – this action can be performed by whichever button is shown as you approach the Snowman, and depends on what platform you are using. Once inside the player can walk, but not run, and hide from the Killer. They are given the Blindness effect when inside, much like when they hide in a locker, and all aura reading abilities do not work while inside. This includes the Killer’s ability to see your aura.

Survivors do not get any protection from being inside a Snowman, as they did in previous years of Bone Chill Events, but it is still pretty fun to hide inside and sneak about. If the Killer does not see you get inside, it is a great place to be!

If a Survivor manages to hide inside a Snowman and then leave through the Exit Gates, they gain a bonus reward of 1,500 Bloodpoints as the Master of Disguise!

Killer

As Killer, it is now possible to also hide inside a Snowman. This adds an extra creepy jump-scare for the other players as they have no idea the Snowman walking towards them is the Killer!

Legion Character Guide

The Legion are made up of four friends: Frank, Julie, Susie, and Joey. These cold-blooded killers are linked by their desire to hurt and attack anyone they run into. They are a fast and merciless bunch who will stop at nothing to track down and maim as many survivors as possible.

Playing as The Legion means taking on one of the four characters. Each has their own outfit, in keeping with the style of the group: a mask, hoodies or jackets, and a knife! The default skins are the group ringleader Frank, or Julie, with DLC content available to transform into Joe or Susie. One of the favourite outfits available to purchase are the Bunny Suits- each member of Legion with their own bunny colour! You don’t know fear until you have a giant bunny with a blood-stained knife sprinting towards you.

The Legion’s power is the Feral Frenzy. Using this power means Legion can run at full speed for a limited time, stabbing Survivors and inflicting Deep Wound status. This means the Survivor has to mend quickly or end up in Dying status.

If Legion can chain attacks they can build their power and increase their speed. While in Feral Frenzy, Legion can use Feral Vault and smoothly vault pallets. Any Survivors within the Legion’s terror radius will also be revealed with Killer Instinct, a red pulse emanating from their location. Survivors can stun Legion out of the Feral Frenzy attack status, with a pallet or any other stun like Head On.

The Legion has 3 Unique Perks that can be unlocked in other Killer Bloodwebs eventually if required:

Discordance		Generators within 64/96/128 meters being repaired by 2 or more Survivors will be highlighted and sound off a notification noise
Mad Grit		While carrying a Survivor, the Killer has no cooldown on missed attacks. A successful hit pauses wiggle progress for a few seconds.
Iron Maiden		Open lockers 30/40/50% faster. Any Survivor exiting a locker screams and suffers as Exposed for 30 seconds.

All Haunted By Daylight Bonus Cosmetics and How to Unlock Them

Players unlock each bonus cosmetic by playing matches of Dead By Daylight during the Halloween event Haunted By Daylight, and interacting with the features. This 2-week event has brought special event Generators and Hooks, as well as some spooky looking black holes floating about the map.

Players must transfer 30 Void Energy into Unstable Rifts in a match in order to unlock each bonus cosmetic. For Survivors, it is imperative that they also survive the match or it will not count. The Void Energy is gained in different ways, depending on who is playing:

• Killers gain Void Energy by
  • Downing Survivors who are carrying Void Energy
  • Hooking Survivors on Esoteric Hooks
  • Smashing Pumpkins
• Killers lose Void Energy by
  • Being stunned by a Survivor
• Survivors gain Void Energy by
  • Repairing Esoteric Generators
  • Stunning Killers who are carrying Void Energy
  • Smashing Pumpkins
• Survivors lose Void Energy by
  • Being downed (or pulled from Generators/out of Lockers/from Pallets)

Gain 15 Void Energy and transfer it to the nearest Unstable Rift, then gain 15 more and transfer that too. When you have transferred 30 Void Energy your Void Energy bar will just turn into a small orange circle to show as complete. Survivors must then escape the trial, while Killers have no other requirements.

When the player returns to their lobby they will see one of the cosmetics has randomly been unlocked and will be available in the character’s locker. If you do not own that character you will still own the cosmetic, but it will only be available when you purchase that particular Killer or Survivor.

The cosmetics available to unlock are glow-in-the-dark skeletal bone shirts for the Survivors, and candy-themed weaponry for the Killers. The lucky characters picked to gain these items are:

Claim a Golden Skull Mask for Trickster in Dead By Daylight

Trickster is an original character in Dead By Daylight so he is allowed to have a huge range of cosmetics including full themed outfits, weapons, and hair or masks. Most of these extra styles are available to purchase in the Dead By Daylight Store and either cost Auric Cells or Iridescent Shards (in-game currencies).

Auric Cells can be purchased with real money or unlocked in the Rift, while Iridescent Shards are earned by levelling up or gifted by BHVR during events.

The Trickster’s Golden Skull Mask is available for free from Prime Gaming. It is only available for Amazon Prime Subscribers. Follow the steps below to claim your Golden Skull Mask:

2. Find the Dead By Daylight section
3. Click on ‘Claim’
4. Load up Dead By Daylight on your device
5. Go to the Store
6. Enter the code provided in ‘Redeem Code’ box
7. Find the item in your locker and equip!

Finding and Using an Arcane Dowsing Rod in Dead By Daylight

The Arcane Dowsing Rods can be found by both Survivor or Killer in their respective Bloodwebs. Players must spend Bloodpoints to unlock each item in the Bloodweb and level up their character. Items, perks, and add-ons appear randomly so some Bloodpoints will have to be spent to eventually have Arcane Dowsing Rods show up.

Once you have unlocked the Arcane Dowsing Rod in your Bloodweb, you can equip it in your load-out before entering a trial. The Arcane Dowsing Rod is an Offering, so it takes the place of any map or Bloodpoints offering you may usually use.

Equipping the Arcane Dowsing Rod gives the player 100% extra Bloodpoints when they complete objectives on Esoteric Hooks (Killer only) or Esoteric Generators (Survivor only), and by completing Void Energy transfers (Killer and Survivor).

The Arcane Dowsing Rod also gives players a directional cue when an Unstable Rift spawns within 24m. It can only be used during the Haunted By Daylight event.

Gaining and Transferring Void Energy in Dead By Daylight

Both Survivors and Killers can gain Void Energy and transfer it to Unstable Rifts. The Void Energy is gained in different ways, depending on who is playing:

The Void Energy can be collected until the meter fills to 15 and then the aura of an Unstable Rift will appear nearby. Players must seek out the Unstable Rift before it phases elsewhere, and transfer the energy. They will receive a speed boost for doing so.

If the player does this energy transfer twice, and transfers a total of 30 Void Energy during a trial, they will unlock an exclusive cosmetic or charm. The only catch is that a Survivor must survive the trial to unlock the cosmetic- a Killer only has to collect and transfer the energy (arguably a harder job for the Killer anyhow).
